Dubai: A Bangladeshi man and two women have been accused of endangering the life of a newborn on February 16 this year when they allegedly left the one-day-old baby boy in the parking lot of a mosque in Al Baraha.

Records stated suspect N.B., 31, a Filipina housemaid, indulged in consensual sex with D.R., a Bangladeshi man and got pregnant in 2009. The man disappeared after she informed him about the pregnancy.

When N.B. went to his room in Al Baraha she found the two other suspects, M.G., 31, from Bangladesh, and his Indonesian girlfriend L.W., 28, who told her that D.R. may have been arrested in Ras Al Khaimah.

A few weeks later, N.B. gave birth to the baby at a friend’s house. M.G. said he received a call from N.B.’s friend saying N.B. was suffering from severe bleeding. He went to visit her and found that her friend (who was not identified) was planning to throw the baby in a garbage bin. “I felt sorry for the baby and suggested we leave him at the mosque,” he said.

A.B., a Pakistani driver, found the baby and informed the police, who later arrested the suspects.

M.G. and L.W. are accused of failing to report the incident. The next hearing is on November 3.
