Recently, I went through several Gulf News community reports on [areas facing issues with] the piling up of garbage.
A similar situation is occurring in Al Mutherath area in Al Ain. It is really a shame. I have informed the municipal authorities and sent them pictures of garbage in my area. However, nothing has been done.
The situation has worsened over the past few weeks. Earlier, my complaint was that garbage is being dumped by hotels and restaurants, without being disposed of properly.
Now, the area is full of rats. I have not seen mosquitoes in this area for the past 20 years, but they have started to swarm the place now.
Al Ain used to be a clean oasis but now garbage [is taking over] and no one seems to be bothered about it.
Please try to put this message across to the authorities since the current situation poses a real health hazard.
