Complex in Bur Dubai is characterised by traditional architectural heritage styles

“The market complex is one of the distinctive projects implemented by Dubai Municipality and the construction is going on at a total area of 27,000 square metres with an estimated cost of Dh50 million,” said Eng Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
The project, which was launched by Dubai Municipality, within its community-based infrastructure development plans, already has 46 per cent of its construction completed.
He said that the complex in Bur Dubai resembles traditional architectural heritage.
Lootah further pointed out that solar energy panels will be used to provide energy to lighting and water heating equipment, and that special technology will be used in its construction to prevent the loss of cool air. As part of encouraging sustainable transportation, parking stands and space for bicycles would be provided.
The building consists of a basement, ground floor and first floor and is expected to cater to 232 shops, 15 cafeterias and 32 kiosks, in addition to a car park that can hold more than 300 cars in its basement.
“As Dubai Municipality is keen on preserving the environment, the standards and requirements for Green Buildings have been applied in the construction,” Lootah added.
