Manama: A Saudi husband used a public address microphone in a large shopping mall to divorce his wife, a local paper reported.
The husband, who was waiting for his wife in front of a shopping mall in Madinah, was shocked when he saw her take a piece of paper from a young man as she was coming out and put it in her handbag, Saudi paper Shams reported.
Upon getting in their car, the husband grabbed the bag and found the paper with a mobile number on it.
He then asked his wife to get out of the car and walk into the shopping mall where he urged an official to hand him the microphone to call for his wife. He then used the public address to announce that he had divorced her.
According to the paper's report on Sunday, the woman collapsed in tears, but he left her there and drove off.
