Muscat: Police in Dhofar have solved the murder of an expatriate in Salalah with the arrest of his wife.
“The Royal Oman Police’s [ROP] Criminal Investigation Department in Dhofar region have solved the case of murder, which took place last month,” a spokesman for the ROP’s public relations department said in a press release.
Police found the body of the Indian national at his residence in Salalah on September 28. Suspicions of foul play had persisted in the case ever since the murder was reported, police officials said.
Police confronted the deceased’s wife with evidence following detailed investigations. “She later admitted to having committed the crime. The murder occurred after a dispute between the deceased and his wife,” the spokesman said.
The woman stabbed her husband repeatedly with a kitchen knife, police said.
