Muscat: An Asian expatriate has been held by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) on charges of murdering his compatriot in the southern town of Salalah.
The accused allegedly killed his friend at a hotel apartment, the ROP said.
The accused also attempted to burn the body to destroy evidence.
The accused, who was arrested within 72 hours, was found to be in possession of cash, rings, a gold chain and a mobile phone set that belonged to the victim of the crime.
"Faced with the evidence, the accused confessed to killing his friend after a quarrel," said a ROP spokesperson.
