Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower will start on sunday the distribution of the royal grant offered by Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed to job seekers registered at the National Manpower Register.

The grant covers 25,056 beneficiaries who updated their data via the ministry’s website three months before the issuance of the grant, government-owned Oman newspaper quoted Younis Bin Khalfan Al Akhzami, Director-General of Planning and Development, as saying.

Al Akhzami explained that the grant will be distributed in co-operation with BankMuscat via prepaid cards to be issued by the bank to the beneficiaries free of charge.

The ministry has already notified the beneficiaries about the distribution of grant by sending SMS to their respective mobile phones.

“To expedite the distribution process, it has been agreed that the number of beneficiaries who will collect the Royal grant will not go beyond 400 at each branch of BankMuscat,” Al Akhzami pointed out.
