Ministry sets deadline for identity cards
Emiratis, expatriates required to have card by November 22

Abu Dhabi: The Interior Ministry announced that it will require UAE nationals and expatriates to present national identity cards for processing any transactions with its various security authorities and departments with effect from November 22.
However, expatriates residing in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah are exempted from presenting ID cards for now, according to the ministry.
The condition will be applied to expatriate residents later.
The statement said that those, who have not yet obtained ID cards, must apply for ID cards as all Emiratis and expatriate residents will be required to present the national identity card for processing transactions with the ministry and benefiting from its services.
