Manama: A drunk girl who asked a Kuwaiti police offer to party with her had to spend her New Year eve in jail.
According to the case documents reported in Kuwaiti daily Arab Times, the girl was drunk when she was stopped at a checkpoint.
"Why don't you come with me to the party," she cheekily told the officer, according to the daily.
She was taken to the Salmiya police station and her car was impounded.
The first case recorded by the station in 2011 was of a Kuwaiti man and his Iranian girlfriend who were caught in possession of six bottles of alcohol.
The duo was on their way to an apartment in Salmiya where they had planned to celebrate the New Year.
In the Salhiya area, an Asian couple were arrested after policemen caught them kissing in public.
Both were under the influence of alcohol and said they were celebrating the New Year, the Kuwaiti daily said.
Under Kuwaiti laws, consuming alcohol and kissing in public are banned.
