Manama: King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa on Monday appointed three sitting Members of Parliament as state ministers. The three make their debut in the cabinet.

Ganem Al Buainain, a sitting lawmaker in the lower chamber of the bicameral parliament, was appointed state minister for foreign affairs, a post that has been vacant for months, while Salah Ali, a member of the Shura Council, the upper chamber, was named state minister for human rights affairs.

Sameera Rajab, a member of the Shura Council, became the third woman to enter the Bahraini government after she was named state minister for information affairs.

Fatima Al Beloushi, the social development and human rights minister, and Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, the culture minister, are the other two women with portfolios in the government .
