Dubai: The UAE will continue to boost its capabilities by establishing a more appropriate environment that further supports businesses and attracts more investments and qualified personnel in line with the UAE’s vision 2021.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, made these remarks on Sunday during a visit to Bloomberg regional headquarters at Dubai International Financial Centre where he met with Peter Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg Inc.

Dubai is sparing no efforts to consolidate its position as a regional hub for media through forging partnerships with key media agencies in the world, providing its partners with state-of-the-art infrastructures that suits their businesses and creating a supportive atmosphere that encourages its partners for more innovation and excellence so as to offer media figures sufficient space to unleash their potentials, Shaikh Mohammad said.

He added: “We are always keen on enhancing dialogue with our partners, listening to their ideas and opinions and improving an enabling environment that support their businesses and thus bringing about mutual achievements.”

Complicated challenges

Speaking on the difficulties facing media in the world, Shaikh Mohammad pointed out that the media is currently facing complicated challenges meanwhile it has very great responsibilities, as it is considered as the best means to reveal facts and deliver news stories and information to the public objectively and neutrally. A word can have a profound impact on people, it could help them understand surrounding realities, surmount difficulties and push them forward in more actions and achievements.

Highlighting the importance of investing in youth, Shaikh Mohammad said: “It is very significant to offer youth with enabling environment by which they can play pivotal roles and participate in building the future. The UAE is always keen on preparing generations of conscious media figures who are able to develop media sector not only in the UAE but also in the Arab world.”
