Disneyland Paris turns 20, and the celebrations will continue until November, spreading the magic associated with the brand in a bigger and better way.
"We are giving back to our guests what they want," said Julian Munoz, marketing and sales director, Disneyland Paris. "In all our customer feedback, mainly European, of course, they've said ‘don't change anything. Just give us bigger and more' — and we are going to do just that."
The celebrations will kick off on April 1 with three new attractions — the night-time show Disney Dreams, backstage with Mickey and Minnie, and Disney Magic on Parade — and extended hours to enjoy them in.
Disney Dreams is a colourful light-and-sound show that will use the Sleeping Beauty Castle as a screen. The show will portray ever-loved stories such as Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Rapunzel, with special effects created by Disney's "imagineers" using lasers, water sprays and fireworks. Even the soundtrack for these has been re-recorded for the spectacle. The famous Main Street USA Parade is also receiving a revamp, from costumes to floats to choreography and music.
Fans can meet Mickey in his private rehearsal room. "We are allowing guests a backdoor entry to Mickey's property for a personal interaction. They will receive VIP treatment, much like the Princess Pavilion, which is already a great success," Munoz said.
And to enjoy all this, Disneyland Paris is offering special packages in collaboration with its local GSA Al Tayer Travel Agency.
"We know that GCC families are large, and when they come to Europe they come for longer periods," Munoz said. "So we are offering our guests an extra night and a day's stay free on every three nights booked, and all kids below 12 can stay and play for free."
"If you are a Disney fan, you will look at these shows and definitely have tears in your eyes, for Disney is all about being with the family," Munoz added. "And we've used some of the greatest technology available today to give you that truly ‘wow' experience."
