Long-term review: 2012 Cadillac SRX - Week 1

It’s week two and the SRX, with its new 3.6-litre V6 continues to impress. The engine comes from the CTS saloon/coupé, but features lighter con rods and a plastic intake manifold, both of which contribute in shaving a useful nine kilos from its weight. It even revs more freely, resulting in improved power output.

The engineers also stuffed additional sounddeadening materials ensuring the cabin remains nice and quiet even when that engine is working overtime. Fuel efficiency is equally impressive, with the display hovering around the single digit per-100km mark, even when subjected to occasional hoonage. Overall, a discernible improvement.
