What is it?

Thanks to celebrity endorsements, headphones are back in the reckoning. And thanks to the many stylish and sleek options available, you don't have to look like an air-traffic controller or a social misfit when wearing one. The Jabra Halo 2 is the Copenhagen-headquartered headset maker's latest offering for those freedom-loving, music-obsessed audiophiles who care as much about their image as they do about the functionality of their devices.

What's special about it?

The Halo 2 is not revolutionary in that it is not so far off in looks from the Halo, which was launched about three years ago. But what strikes you at first glance is its minimalistic design. Sleek and slim, the Jabra touch is evident in its finishing and lightweight design.

Did I say touch? Yes, another thing really cool about this wireless headphone is that there is only one physical button which turns multifunctional: You can use it to answer a call, end a call, pair a device (pair up to two at a time) and play or stop music. Right beside the button is the touch-sensitive sensor. Slide your finger up and down to increase or decrease the volume or tap to skip tracks in your playlist.

Pairing is easy. For your Halo 2 to be found, just hold down the multifunction button for a few seconds and let your other device find it. Charging is via the provided mini USB. There's also a bundled headphone cable which, when attached, turns it into a regular wired stereo headset, perfect for those devices without Bluetooth.

Another cool feature is storage options. You can un-clasp the headphone and fold it up when you are not using it. This also turns off the device.

While most complaints in reviews for the first Halo were centred on the call quality, Jabra seems to have ironed out those problems. At least in the initial test stage, I have had no issues.

When is it available and for how much?

The Jabra Halo 2 is now available in the UAE at all major electronics retailers for Dh375.
