Pierchic

If you’re looking to romance someone this festive season, you might decide to draw on the skills of the culinary whizzes at Pierchic. Set at the end of its own pier (hence the name), surrounded by expertly placed spotlights and flickering flames, this well-known seafood eatery is a visual spectacle all on its own.

The dazzling lights of the Burj Al Arab and Atlantis The Palm work wonders for the magical view, and contrasted against the peaceful backdrop of the Gulf’s azure waters, this one-of-a-kind fairytale setting takes some beating. The first hint of how special it is comes on the approach (you’ll be transported by golf buggy from Al Qasr Hotel). From the shore the restaurant glows serenely and going by its five-star location, one might expect it to err on the side of grandiose.

Au contraire! Despite the top-notch seafood menu and the staff, who are always nearby, ready to attend to your every need, whether it be a pashmina for the shoulders or a rare Christmas desert, the open-plan venue creates a cool and relaxed atmosphere.

Diners are able to unwind and feel utterly at home as they enjoy a selection of exquisite dishes, including Atlantis lobster and fresh oysters. Of course, if you’re anything like the ladies at scene, the only dishes you care about are the ones of the dessert variety. With this in mind, we recommend you try the deliciously festive marmalade cake with a tangy mandarin twist.
