So, we’re into the last 10 days of Ramadan and you still haven’t managed to drag yourself out for iftar yet? You keep promising yourself you’ll go tomorrow, but are you unsure of where to go? Nosh restaurant is a great place to start as its Ramadan buffet with panoramic lake views is the perfect place to soak up the seasonal sundowner.

At Movenpick JLT’s Nosh restaurant, you can feast on traditional Arabic delicacies as well as a delectable selection of international dishes and exquisite Arabic sweets.

Guests can fuel up with delicious a la carte favourites inventively put together by lively chefs who interact with diners in the open kitchen.

Nosh blends an array of traditional favourites like dates, shorbat adas (lentil soup) and lamb ouzi with fashionable new dishes. The lamb ouzi is very popular among diners and understandably so. The lamb, marinated in plain yoghurt and bulb garlic, was the ideal centrepiece of the evening’s meal. The mix of onions, ground nutmeg and white pepper added to the strong savoury smack of the meat, while the rice — mixed with nuts and sweet raisins — takes the dish to another level.

If you’re not too keen on the ouzi, there’s a vast and varied landscape of Indian cuisine, bold spices and big tastes from around the globe.

Sushi and sashimi

Fish lovers, like myself, will no doubt relish the offerings at Nosh, with a whole host of morsels of fresh sushi and sashimi. And their sweet and sour fish dish will surprise even the most travelled tastebuds.

An ever-changing selection of juices are on tap, offering unusual mash-ups, including rose water and mango, a refreshing and rewarding change from the status quo.

It’s always time for dessert at Nosh as they make a point to start their buffet with the dessert bar. From a chocolate fountain, baklawa and jelly sweets — you name it, they’ve it. The miniature desserts are a blessing for those, like me, who take more than I can actually eat. These tasty nibbles make for the perfect end to a replenishing nosh-up.

The restaurant has a family vibe and is great for children who would definitely enjoy the sweets. But if that’s not enough to satisfy them, there is a dedicated playing area with games available to keep them entertained. And if they’re aged six and under, they even get to dine for free.

The lakeside views of Nosh offer the options of an al fresco terrace or an indoor setting with an open kitchen. For guests looking for an intimate gathering, there’s also a private dining room available which can hold up to 12 guests.

Iftar diners can also win a getaway to Istanbul as each diner receives a ticket for a raffle which will be drawn at the end of the month.
