The latest craze to hit the UAE isn’t a must-have handbag or a pair of can’t-live-without heels, but super-chic boutique restaurants and cafes. So, next time you’re on the hunt for a brand new outfit, why not grab some haute-cuisine to match your haute-couture, at one of our designer dining picks?

Wild Ginger, Iconic

As if the rails packed with all the latest designer offerings weren’t enough to lure you into Iconic, their signature restaurant guarantees you’ll be back for more bags and bites. Wild Ginger is a perfect balance of a stylish setting - fit for the most image conscious of shoppers - and a mouth-watering menu of Asian dishes that will please even the most discerning of palates. The fresh and colourful restaurant is the perfect place to take a mid-splurge break and enjoy one of a host of tempting dishes, and we recommend the Grawpaw Gai and Stir-fried chicken with a chilli kick, best chased down with the cooling Green apple refresher.

Alfie’s Restaurant and Lounge, Dunhill

Opening in January 2012, restaurant lounge, Alfie’s, will be an extension of the super-chic Dunhill store, an elegant and sophisticated environment that prides itself on its no-hair-out-of-place perfection. The menu will reflect the contemporary elegance and heritage of the brand, ranging from expertly mixed post-work cocktails, to a menu featuring homely British classics with a modern twist – the perfect fit for the suited and booted.

Armani Caffe, Armani,

The Armani Caffe is as stylish as you would expect from any eatery bearing the Armani name, and the sleek black exterior is a haven away from the hustle and bustle of the Mall of the Emirates; and it’s clear that they’ve spent as much time considering their chic interiors, as they have putting together an authentic Italian menu. Famous for serving up some of the best Italian food in the UAE, the White pizza with truffles is totally unmissable and as close to haute cuisine as you’ll ever find in this famous Mediterranean dish. And be sure you treat yourself and take home some Armani Dolci - delicious Italian chocolates emblazoned with the signature Armani ‘A’.

Boutique 1 Café

Separated by a twinkling glass partition, the Boutique 1 Café is the ideal location for a little break from a busy day’s shopping. Being able to grab a bite in the home of some of the region’s most exclusive brands is a rare treat, but also totally necessary if the excitement of a new Lucy in Disguise or The Row range becomes too much. The menu features everyone’s favourite café staples of sandwiches and salads fit for any fashionista, but it’s the drink selection that really shines. No visit is complete without one of their famous smoothies, bursting with fresh fruit they’re the ideal healthy boost to get you refreshed and refuelled, ready to browse the designer-packed racks once more.
