Turkish Grill Nusret opening at Four Seasons Dubai

The first international venue to open at the Restaurant Village at The Four Seasons Resort on Jumeirah Beach Road next month will be a Turkish grill, Nusret. Five dining concepts are due to open at the hotel, alongside five in-house-operated outlets. There are already six Nusret restaurants in Turkey, the creation of butcher and restaurateur Nusret Gokce; hence a big focus on meat here, including ribs, grilled meatballs and a tartare trolley. Stay tuned for more from the Four Seasons.

Rib Room now at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray

The steakhouse you know and love from Emirates Towers is now at Jumeirah’s Palm hotel, too. The resort has now launched a Rib Room restaurant on the mezzanine level in the east wing, serving steaks for lunch and dinner. The focus on the other dishes is the use of British produce, with the likes of cheeses and oysters from the UK. Being at the resort, there’s the benefit of an outdoor terrace. Call 04-4530444.

Belgian cheeseman to host tasting

Frederic Van Tricht is an affineur — that’s a cheese ager to you and me — and he’ll be sharing the secrets of his craft at Cafe Belge at an event pairing cheese with Belgium’s finest beverages on November 19 and 20. The Van Tricht family have been maturing cheese — a key component in developing flavour — for three generations. The events are 7-9pm, with seven mature cheeses with seven drink tasters, Dh190 per person. A cheese platter with one beverage is Dh75 per person on both days. Call 04-3722323.
