Cove Beach is open by the sea
Here’s a Dubai restaurant and club that lives up to its name. Cove Beach, at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, combines a restaurant, a bar and the “Sea Lounge” with super-sized sunbeds and a DJ. In the kitchen is chef Vergan Robert, serving southern Italian and French cuisines with the Cove’s signature rose tipples for a Riviera experience.
Reinforcing that is the menu: Nicoise salad, grilled marinated octopus salad, sauteed baby calamari and pizzas as well as classic beachside fare such as burgers, wraps and steaks. Meet Shake Shack’s culinary wizard
Fanatical about the US burger joint? Take it to a whole new level on Thursday when Shake Shack’s culinary director Mark Rosati will be at the JBR branch to put together a brand new, one-day-only burger, The Cheddar Shack, Dh50. It’s an Angus beef patty topped with Shack cheddar and American cheese sauce and double smoked veal bacon and will be on sale at all branches in Dubai on that day only, while quantities last.
What does Rosati actually do? Since 2007, he’s been travelling and tasting the world, coming up with flavour combinations for the hit company’s comfort foods, from permanent menu items to seasonal specials. A New York Times interview last year claimed he has created 320 flavours for their always-changing menus of custards, shakes and concretes.
New Little More Dubai open with new menu
A third outlet of the cafe has opened at Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA) (also find them in Dubai’s Business Central Towers in Media City and Dubai Marina Mall), with the rollout of a new menu at all outlets, which are both office-worker- and family-friendly.
New dishes include the beef pastrami sandwich, with cheddar cheese and sun-dried tomatoes on ciabatta; thai chicken skewers with sweet chilli sauce, green mango salad and ajtar-tjampoer, and beef steak salad, with roasted capsicum, whole spelt bread with mixed greens and lemon vinaigrette.
