It was not a comfortable moment for Katrina Kaif, when a journo doubted her command over Hindi language at a promotional event here Sunday. But co-star Shah Rukh Khan came to her rescue.

They were here to promote their forthcoming film “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” that is releasing Tuesday.

When one of the photo journalists asked Kaif about her character in the movie, she started answering in English, but was stopped midway by the journalist who forced her to speak in Hindi saying: “You are from Bollywood not Hollywood”.

Khan intervened and said: “She speaks Hindi also. There is no questioning on the language that she speaks. I request you not to do that...don’t get confused with what language the actor speaks in. Whatever they are comfortable in, they have right to do so.”

When someone asked who does dubbing for Kaif, Khan said, “She dubs herself.”

As soon as Khan finished, Kaif informed about her role in the film. Speaking in English, she said: “My character is that of a typical Yash Chopra heroine. She is very idealistic about life. In the film, I am a businesswoman running my own company.”

“Today is not my day. I just want to say that please see the movie and hope you like the film,” she added.
