Indian stars will be jostling for space this week in the UAE. As Bollywood hunk Salman Khan wraps his shoot in Dubai for his next film Mental, Malayalam movie fans also get to see their idol Prithviraj in the neighbouring emirate Sharjah on Wednesday.
Prithviraj, who recently won the Best Actor trophy at the prestigious Kerala State Film Awards for his latest film Celluloid, will inaugurate the sprawling saree store Kalyan Silks at Al Zahra Square at 6pm. If his previous public appearances in the UAE are anything to go by, Prithviraj - the brand ambassador for Kalyan Silks - will attract thousands of Malayali movie fans. His popularity stakes shot through the roof after he made a foray into Bollywood with Aiyaa, and he will soon be seen in Yash Raj’s Aurangzeb and alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s Happy New Year, expected to be shot in the UAE.
