Harry Styles has come to terms with the inevitable: Taylor Swift will likely write a break-up song about him.

“It would be hypocritical for me to say she couldn’t do it because everybody writes songs based on personal experience,” the One Direction boy bander said in this week’s issue of Us Weekly. “At least she’s a great songwriter!”

The pair split in January after a few months of dating.

In March, Swift, 23, revealed that she had already penned a song about the British heartthrob: I Knew You Were Trouble to be exact. She also made gibes at Styles with her Grammy performance of We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together and her 22 video. Maybe Styles missed those little displays of disaffection?

In a March interview with the UK’s Sunday Times magazine, Swift was asked if it was difficult to perform Trouble during the February Brit Awards.

“Well, it’s not hard to access that emotion when the person the song is directed at is standing by the side of the stage watching,” she said.

The 19-year-old singer was the only one of her many exes who was near the stage. That we know of.

“You’re balancing the analytical side of your brain, which is telling you where to go and how to go there, with the other side of your brain, which is saying, ‘Feel everything you’re singing, and show it on your face. Feel everything exactly as you felt it when you wrote the song,’ “ Swift said.

The pair’s relationship was highly publicised because of their mega-success. But Styles said that the negative exposure won’t stop him from pursuing any other high-profile romance.

“I think it’s people, you like people for who they are, so I couldn’t say I want to date someone less famous because of the hassle. You like who you like,” the What Makes You Beautiful singer told Us.

“I think relationships are hard enough, so I think you have to completely ignore everything from outside. When you’re in the opening stages of a relationship as it is, you’re still under the pressure of getting to know everything about a person, he added. “If you have a lot of people from outside telling you what it is and they don’t even know you, telling you what your relationship is, that’s weird. So I think you sort of have to block it out and just have the relationship rather than think — we’re having this relationship play out on magazine covers.”

Magazine covers, social media, blogs, newspapers and boy-band documentaries such as One Direction: This Is Us. You know, the usual trappings that come with international success.

As for what he looks for in a girl, he says he’s looking for “someone with a cute laugh and a good smile.”

“Someone you can have fun with — I like someone who’s up for doing stuff in terms of like, trying new things and going out new places. Not just someone who does nothing and wants to sit around.”

The British star’s sexuality was recently questioned in the September issue of the UK edition of GQ, in which he and his band members each got their own cover-model treatment. The interviewer asked Styles if there was any truth to rumours that he and DJ-friend Nick Grimshaw were an item.

“We’re not dating, no. We’re just friends,” he said, clarifying that he was not into the male folk.

“Bisexual? Me? I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure I’m not,” he added. “Some of [the rumors] are funny. Some of them are ridiculous. Some of them are annoying. I don’t want to be one of those people that complains about the rumours. I never like it when a celebrity goes on Twitter and says, ‘This isn’t true!’ It is what it is; I tend not to do that.

“The only time it gets really annoying is that if you get into a relationship and you get into a place where you really like someone and then things are being written in the papers that affect them and how they see you. Then it can get annoying.”

Annoying, sure. Is that what happened with Swifty, perchance?

It should be noted that that same interview was mocked by the likes of Lindsay Lohan.

Seems as though that muss-haired rascal is turning into someone people love to hate.
