An annual pass to Bollywood Parks Dubai will cost Dh755, the park operator announced on Monday.

Prices for daily entry to the 1.7 million square-foot theme park, which is due to open in October, were not announced, however, following the same pattern as Legoland Dubai, which also announced its annual pass prices first (Dh995), although they are expected to be revealed in July. Both parks are part of the Dubai Parks and Resorts theme park complex near Jebel Ali.

“We wanted Bollywood Parks Dubai to be not just a park, but a destination. Bollywood has got such wide appeal and we will be bringing its essence alive,” said Stanford Pinto, chief parks operating officer of Dubai Parks & Resorts. The team are in talks with stars.

“The stars helped us design the rides. We have worked with Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Aamir Khan last week and now we have dates with Shah Rukh Khan next month to get footage for R.One and Don rides,” said Pinto. Bollywood Parks Dubai will have film-centric rides based on hit films such as Sholay, Don, Dabangg.

“You don’t have to have any knowledge of Bollywood before coming here … We have brought the flavours of Bollywood to Dubai. It’s going to be fun and entertaining,” said Thomas Jellum, general manager of Bollywood Parks Dubai. There will be 30 live shows daily.

The park will be filled with cinema-centric rides, Broadway-style Bollywood shows and retail outlets stocking film merchandise. There will be 16 rides and attractions in total.

When asked if top Bollywood stars will attend the official opening in October, Jellum said the names are yet to be finalised, but that the stars have been incredibly supportive of the concept, which features five zones, six movie-themed restaurants and eight retail stores.

In the meantime, check out the five zones at the park:

Bollywood Film Studio featuring Hall Of Heroes

Ever wondered how the blockbuster Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was made? Enter the Bollywood Film Studio. Footage that captures the behind-the-scenes of the film, which had scenes such as the heroes being chased by bulls in Spain, will play out.

There’s also a Ra.One virtual ride that will recreate the encounter in the Shah Rukh Khan sci-fi film between G.One and Ra.One. If you are in the mood for some aerial acrobatics, check out Hall Of Heroes, which will feature Krrish, the superhero character popularised by Hrithik Roshan, luring you to play a simulated game that involves jumping from skyscraper to skyscraper.

Mumbai Chowk:

If you have never been to Mumbai, the epicentre of Bollywood filmmaking, then this is possibly the next best thing. A double-decker bus (they still ply Mumbai’s roads), will be stationed at Mumbai Chowk. There’s live entertainment, with dance shows and a game that involves dangerous car chases, like those Shah Rukh Khan enjoyed in the action film Don.

Rustic Ravine

What did Aamir Khan feel when he hit the sixer to win the cricket game against the British in Lagaan? How do you channel your inner Chulbul Pandey, the cheeky cop from Dabangg? Rustic Ravine is your stop.

Royal Plaza

The Broadway-style musical will happen here every evening. It’s not just the colour and the drama that should lure you here. The architecture of Royal Plaza, with domes and pillars, will pay a homage to the beauty and intricacy of Indian architecture.

Bollywood Boulevard

Fancy Indian food will be served alongside live shows inspired by the Bollywood hit movie Rock On!!.
