The plot Loosely based on the novel Headhunters by Jules Bass, Monte Carlo sees three pals - Grace (Gomez), Emma (Cassidy) and Meg (Meester) - cutting short their trip to Paris and making a VIP detour to super-chic Monte Carlo, after Grace is mistaken for a British heiress called Cordelia.
The girls are happy to go along with the subterfuge in order to enjoy an all-expenses-paid dream vacation, but things naturally go haywire after a handsome French chap called Theo, who had previously fallen for Cordelia, falls in love with Grace in her guise as the heiress. Then, Emma's football player man, Owen (Monteith) and the real Cordelia both show up...
What we liked This is fun with a capital F, and the trio of Katie, Selena and Leighton are super-likeable on-screen. Teen girls will love it, but it'll be a guilty pleasure for grown-up gals too.
What we didn't like Similarities with the Hilary Duff vehicle, The Lizzie McGuire Movie are uncanny, and at the end of the day, it is all a bit fluffy and you'll see the ending a mile off.
