Will Poulter, best known for his roles in Reverent (2015) and The Maze Runner (2014), recently spoke about how happy he was to return to the UAE.

“It’s my second time in Dubai, I shot a film last year in Abu Dhabi, and then I got the opportunity to travel over to Dubai and I love it. The people over here have been so lovely, they could not have been more welcoming,” he said, speaking on the red carpet of the Global Gift Gala, the charity event of Dubai International Film Festival. “I have had a very warm reception and it’s been really amusing.”

Poulter’s career took off when he was at a very young age — going from Son of Rambow (2007) to We’re the Millers (2013).

“It’s been fascinating and I feel really lucky to act for a living, it had its ups and downs but I am very grateful for all the countless experiences. I also got to travel the world and see a lot of amazing places,” he said.

Poulter has taken advantage of the opportunity to experiment with different character roles from playing a bullied child to a fighter.

“I think as an actor you try your best to play as many different personalities as possible and explore as many corners of your own personalities as well,” he said. “I am indebted to have had this opportunity to be able to do things that interest me personally and encourage me to step outside of my comfort zone”

He is currently working with filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty, 2012) on a project about a citizen uprising in Detroit.

“I was so lucky to work for her and she is an amazing filmmaker, someone I was a fan of and it is like a dream come true,” said Poulter.
