DUBAI: Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gulf News’ 2015 Game of the Year, will be available on PC and Steam on January 29.

The action-adventure, a stunning homage to Tomb Raider’s heritage and a vindication Crystal Dynamics’ franchise reboot, has previously only been available on Xbox and Xbox 360.

The standard digital download edition will cost Dh169. A Collector’s Edition, containing a 12-inch statue of Lara Croft, a replica diary and necklace and the digital deluxe version of the game, will cost £109.99 (Dh592).

The PC version will feature 4K resolution and Windows 10 support. Minimum specifications require a 64-bit system running Windows 7+, i3-2100 processors or equivalent, 6Gb of RAM and a 2Gb Nvidia GTX 650 or AMD HD7770 graphic card.

Rise of the Tomb Raider, the follow-up to 2013’s reboot, sees the return of Lara Croft as an experienced adventurer, with several levels clearly harking back to the very first Tomb Raider game from 1996.

Challenging puzzles and plenty of firefights are set against an engaging storyline by Rhianna Pratchett.

New downloadable content (DLC) for the Xbox version of the game, Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch, is also due out in January. Based on Russian folklore, the DLC will feature an encounter with the legendary witch’s giant, chicken-legged hut. Microsoft says it adds hours of new gameplay.
