Abu Dhabi: The BBQ Al Qasr Brunch at the Palace is like no other. It is an experience that feeds all your senses.
‘Awe-struck’ is your state of mind when you sit sandwiched between the majestic palace domes overlooking you on one side and the breathtaking beauty of the Arabian Gulf on other.
Spacious and beautifully done cabanas offer the perfect beachside seating while a DJ spins soothing music. It is easy to spend hours just soaking up the sweeping views but when you add great food to the experience, it becomes a highly potent combo.
Long wooden planks lead to the food stations that are set inside beach cabanas. Ladies: Your high heels are safe in the sand.
When it comes to the menu, the brunch follows the ‘size does not matter’ policy. The spread is limited and laid out in three stations – starters, main courses and desserts – which makes it easy to navigate. Starters include some great seafood selections, a variety of salads served in mini glass jars, breads, tuna and octopus carpaccio, a selection of cheeses.
Sushi trays are served at the table. The friendly staff waits on you near your cabana and is ready to serve you at the table whenever you wish.
The main course has a good mix of international and local cuisine. The grill station offers a choice of meat and barbecues, oven roasted chicken and vegetables and a shawarma station lets you taste the local delicacy in a beachside environment.
A few metres away, the desserts woo you with a selection of cakes and patisseries, meringu and tarts.
