When Jumeirah Al Naseem opens this autumn, there will be ten restaurants, and one of them is Il Borro Tuscan Bistro Dubai — the Dubai outpost of Il Borro, the Tuscan estate owned by the Ferragamo family. Consisting of a restaurant bar and lounge, expect it to open in December.

What is Il Borro? It’s a Tuscan estate that was a medieval village and is now a resort with a restaurant, Tuscan Bistro, which puts biodynamic produce from the estate onto diners’ plates — as will happen in Dubai, too, we’re told.

In the UAE, it won’t be in a village but instead at the upcoming resort’s Turtle Lagoon, but there will be a focus on Tuscan food, with modern interpretations. In the kitchen is Maurizio Bosetti, working with the brand’s executive chef Andrea Campani. Fish, aged meat and cheeses will be on display as diners walk in. It will be open daily for lunch and dinner; call 04-2752555 for reservations.

“The Ferragamo family and I are excited to bring a piece of the Il Borro Tuscan estate to a discerning Middle East audience,” says Salvatore Ferragamo — not the late designer, but the CEO of Il Borro and a member of the Italian luxury-goods family. “We look forward to treating the UAE to a taste of true Tuscan authenticity where organic, sustainable and ethically grown produce and a commitment to hand-craftsmanship is at the heart of everything we do, from our menu to warm Italian hospitality.”
