Chef Tom Aikens and head chef at Pots, Pans and Boards Ebrahim Eisa Musleh. The restaurant opens in Dubai in September.

We finally know when Tom Aikens first Dubai restaurant is opening, and is really soon.

Seven weeks away, in fact.

By early September, foodies will be able to check out Pots, Pans and Boards, a rustic sharing concept at The Beach, opposite JBR in the Marina end of Dubai.

The relaxed and casual restaurant will serve dishes in a format follow its name — so dishes will arrive in pots, pans and on boards — as well as traditional English, Mediterranean and French dishes. The 300-cover spot seats diners indoors and out, and will also serve breakfast.

So what’s on the menu? Think black squid tempura; lamb meatballs with harissa; malt-glazed short rib; duck confit with mustard; and treacle-marinated salmon; as well as grilled fish, meats and steaks and desserts such as sticky toffee pudding with date ice cream.

Aikens was the youngest chef in Britain to achieve two Michelin stars. The head chef in Dubai is Ebrahim Eisa Musleh.

“We absolutely cannot wait to bring Pots, Pans and Boards to the people of Dubai and are keen to offer up something completely different to what currently exists on the Dubai food scene,” said Aikens.

“The concept behind Pots, Pans and Boards stems from my own nostalgia of family and home-cooking in a bustling and comforting environment. Sharing food with friends and family means so much to me; it brings people closer together and makes the whole aspect of dining and eating out a truly enjoyable experience.”
