Stay in for a steak

DIFC restaurant Gaucho is next month launching Gaucho Anywhere — a take-away and delivery service for its Argentine dishes. Starting from August 17, Gaucho will be delivering starters, salads, steaks and side dishes. The catch — it’s only to diners based in Downtown and DIFC, although the restaurant “is already working on expanding [its] reach to more areas in the near future”. Visit www.gauchorestaurants.ae; there is no minimum spend or delivery charges. It’s something the restaurant, which also has locations in the UK and Asia, has already tested out in its Sloane outlet in the British capital.

“The gourmet take-away and delivery services were first launched in Gaucho Sloane, and the overwhelming response we received is what led us to bringing the concept to Dubai. With the rising list of outlets that provide take-away and delivery services, it was ideal that we are among the select first to provide the same with gourmet cuisine,” says Ross Butler, Gaucho’s director of international operations. Meanwhile, for those dining in-house, movie nights return on Mondays in August, kicking off with The Notebook on the 17th. The restaurant is currently having something of a facelift before it opens with Iris-run bar-lounge Indie on the upper level later this summer.

There’s one more Peruvian restaurant in town

Do we need one more Peruvian restaurant in Dubai? The folks from Nawwara Lifestyle Choices say yes and are hoping you’ll be checking out their latest launch at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai from the end of the month. Garden will be serving the South American nation’s most famous dishes including seafood ceviche and tiraditos prepared under Chef de Cuisine Edgar Hurtado. “Being Peruvian, I can affirm that we are all obsessed with our food — we are proud of it, long for it, and most all, love to share it. Peruvian food is here to thrive,” he said.

Nawwara Lifestyle Choices are the folks behind Square Nightclub, Garden Restaurant and the upcoming Park, an outdoor lounge. The Garden will be open 7pm-midnight on weekdays (until 1am on Thursdays and Fridays). Call 056-2240956.
