The closure of Rivington Grill after eight years is without a doubt a loss for Dubai’s dining community: It boasts delicious food, relaxed yet elegant ambiance, and some fabulous Dubai Fountain views, all without costing an arm and a leg. It will serve its last British classic on June 4, and has lined up offers for diners in the run-up to the end of its lease at Souk Al Bahar. Classics and favourites from over the years will be featured on the daily specials board, while ex-staff will be popping up in the kitchen and front of house. From May 29 there’s 50 per cent off beverages as they clear the stocks and all diners during that period also get a 30 per cent off voucher for a meal at The Ivy (at Emirates Towers, which, like Rivi, is part of Jumeirah Restaurant Group). Finally, a three-course meal for two on the terrace on the closing night will be raffled off in a social media contest, for those posting memorable pictures of the venu with #RememberRivi. From 6pm onwards on June 4, a three-course meal is Dh250 (while dishes last). Farewell, Rivi.

Russell Scott is the MD of Jumeirah Restaurant Group Dubai. “We are proud of what we have achieved at this hugely popular restaurant over the past eight years. I would like to personally thank all of our loyal customers and I would urge them, as well as the people who have not yet tried us, to get along as soon as they can to try those favourites or experience the great roast. The Rivi team will look forward to looking after you.” Call 04-4230903.
