Sharjah food lovers, check this out: Vineet Bhatia, Nirmine Hanno and Mohammad Orfali will be in the city for this month’s Sharjah Food Festival, running March 31-April 9.
The 10th edition of the festival takes place in four locations: Al Qasba, Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Montazah and Heart of Sharjah, running live cookery demonstrations and activities daily from 5-11pm.
Hanno (of Wala Bil Ahlam) is Egyptian, while Orfali is Syrian; both can be seen in action on the Fatafeat cooking channel. Indian chef Bhatia, meanwhile, has two restaurants in the UAE, Indego and Ashiana By Vineet, and his UK restaurants are Michelin starred.
Other guest chefs include the UAE’s Bader Najeeb Al Awadhi; Salwa Al Araifi from Bahrain; Aisha Al Tamimi, a chef from Qatar; Issa Al Lamki, from Oman; Ali Abdullah Saleh Al Ali, from Saudi Arabia; and Kuwaiti chefs Wafa Al Kandari and Sami Al Sherida.
There will also be food kiosks and vendors, food carving lessons and cookery competitions. Details of entry prices could not be confirmed at the time of writing.
