Afternoon tea at Reform Social & Grill

Chef Ryan Waddell has created a 1940s inspired afternoon tea aimed at those looking to celebrate father’s day but if you like the sound of mini steak pies and Yorkie bar brownies, we’d saying give it a go even if you’re not a dad (or a guy!). The Gentlemen’s Afternoon tea also includes sandwiches, sausage rolls, pistachio Battenberg, tea or coffee; other beverages carry an additional cost. Available Saturday-Thursday, 3-5pm, Dh95 per person. Call 04-4542638.

Dinner and a movie at Claw

The film is one of two Tom Cruise ’80s hits that is lined up to be screened on a fortnightly basis starting from June 24 in the new private room, The Barn (the other: Top Gun, natch). For Dh300, each moviegoer gets a food and drinks menu inspired by the film, in time with key moments. Dirty Dancing, Sex and the City and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off are also on the menu. Popcorn and candy floss are also included. Screenings start at 8pm, bookings advised. Email lauren@clawbbq.comWednesday.

The restaurant, seating 60, is as shiny and subtle as you’d expect, with a floor in classic Armani greige; there’s an Armani/Dolci desk at the entrance.
