The Burj Al Arab Jumeirah celebrated its sweet 16 in December 2015, and with it, it’s getting a little makeover.

The revamp will include a new bar and some significant projects still to be revealed, our sources tell us.

But for those already wanting a taste of what’s new, the refurbished all-day dining Bab Al Yam restaurant has reopened, after a “significant upgrade to its interior and exterior design”.

The sunny space has a terrace and an open kitchen with a brick oven.

There are new dishes coming out of said oven with a menu by the hotel’s executive chef, Maxime Luvara, and Mohit Bhragava, Bab Al Yam’s chef de cuisine. The food? Mediterranean with Middle Eastern accents; signature dishes include buttered tiger prawns with pickled lemon, Taggiasca olives and samphire; and Datterino tomato bruschetta with marinated anchovies.

Remember you need a prior reservation to gain access to the hotel. Call 04-3017777.
