Chopin competition gold medallist Seong-Jin Cho is set to perform two piano recitals as part of the Abu Dhabi Classics programme on February 7 and 8.
The first event will take place at The Arts Center at New York University Abu Dhabi and the second night will see Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara host the recital in the Empty Quarter.
Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi, Cho is a former child prodigy who first achieved global acclaim when he was four years old. His passion for Chopin will be reflected in the concert programme, also comprising an inclination to explore Beethoven’s mastery with the classic sonata form.
The programme also features the 19th century classic Fantasiestucke by Robert Schumann, a piece that was inspired by the collection of short stories and essays, Fantasiestucke in Callots Manier written by the German author E.T.A. Hoffmann in 1814.
Tickets for both performances start at Dh55 and are available online. Show starts at 7pm.
