The UAE’s NSO Symphony Orchestra will launch its new season of Friday Night Galas with a Night at the Symphony at the Emirates Palace Auditorium in Abu Dhabi on November 17.

The gala will feature some of the most inspiring orchestral music ever written: Mendelssohn’s mighty Hebrides Overture, Brahms’s virtuosic Violin Concerto in D and one of the most popular orchestral classics, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5.

Guest conductor Giuseppe Lanzetta of Italy’s Symphony Toscana Classica, and international violinist Daria Nechaevan will join the performance.

While the evening gala is at 7.30pm; a matinee show at 4.30pm is also planned for younger adults, which is also an ‘open rehearsal’, when the conductor and musicians will take time during their rehearsal to explain the different parts of the orchestra and the pieces they are playing.

“The NSO Symphony Orchestra is looking forward to delighting its audiences with an exciting programme to open the new season and, in a first for the orchestra, is especially pleased to welcome Maestro Lanzetta and Madam Nechaevan, who will bring their own interpretations to these favourite orchestral classics,” said Janet Hassouneh, NSO founder and executive director.

The next Friday Night Galas following this event will be on February 9 and on April 27.

Three-concert ticket packages, starting at Dh425, are now on sale.
