Justin Bieber is a different man, and organisers of his Dubai concert are optimistic that the pop star will start his performance on time.

“[He] has matured as an artist and a person, and has shown up on time for all his shows recently,” said Thomas Ovesen, the CEO of 117 Live.

Bieber notoriously turned up two hours late for both his performances in Dubai in 2013 during his Believe World Tour. His current Purpose World Tour, in support of his fourth album, lands in the UAE on May 6 at the Autism Rocks Arena in Dubai. Bieber is expected to take the stage at around 8pm. X-Factor Arabia winner Hamza Hawsawi and Canadian rap duo Deen Squad will open for him.

Ovesen says fans should consider potential traffic snarls, and arrive early. There will be free shuttle buses from Dubai Outlet Mall, he said, as well as park-and-ride facilities from Gobal Village car park.

After-show bus services have also been arranged to various Dubai locations including The Dubai Mall, Deira City Centre, City Centre Mirdif, Mall of the Emirates and Ibn Battuta Mall. Tickets to the Purpose World Tour start at Dh335.

Here are other things to know:

• Doors open at 4pm. Doors will open earlier if conditions permit.

• Professional photography is not permitted at the concert. Mobile phones are permitted.

• Guests are able to enter the arena with open water bottles.

• Shuttle buses will be provided from the Dubai Outlet Mall to the arena starting at 3pm.
