Fashion Forward Dubai (FFWD) is spreading its wings. For its eight season, the bi-annual fashion showcase has partnered with Indian fashion promoter 6Degree who will introduce three designers from the country to showcase their latest collections at the four-day October event.

FFWD already partners with Lebanese designer Rabih Kayrouz’s Starch Foundation, which gives emerging fashion designers from his country a platform.

A total of 31 designers and 14 accessory labels will present their collections, via catwalk shows, presentations and showcases from October 20 to 24 at Dubai Design District (d3).

The Fashion Talks series this season will feature iconic French-Arab model Farida Khelfa, who will talk about her experiences in the industry. Jane Boddy, the director of colour and womenswear for WGSN, the leading trend authority, will share her seasonal previews, while experts in different fields will discuss topics such as ‘Hot off the Runway: From Footwear to Fashion’ and ‘Sourcing: From Sampling to Manufacturing — How to Find the Right Partner?’.

FFWD has also partnered with Muriel Piaser Consulting to bring four international buyers representing department and concept stores to attend the shows, organisers said.

Catwalk shows are invite-only but limited tickets priced at Dh100 (one-day pass) and Dh200 (three-day pass) will go on sale for entry into the event and to attend talks. Registration is mandatory. Go to fashionforward.ae.
