A series of intimate, low-cost performances called Music in the Studio will take place once a month in Dubai Opera, beginning in September.

The chamber music concerts — that is, concerts focused on classical music performed by a small ensemble — are Dh150 each, with tickets going on sale midday on Monday. A season pass to all four shows is Dh450.

On September 13, Russian pianist Alexander Ghindin’s performance will feature Pictures at an Exhibition by composer Modest Mussorgsky.

On October 4, cellist Guy Johnston and pianist Amira Fouad, who is also the curator of these concerts, will come together for an evening of Beethoven, Faure and Rachmaninoff.

On November 22, violinist Tasmin Little and pianist Piers Lane will perform music from their most recent album, including Sonata for Violin and Piano by Caesar Franck.

Finally, on December 13, soprano Rhian Lois and Fouad will perform a finale including Handel, Mozart, Puccini and festive music to celebrate the season.
