Bollywood musical Taj Express, featuring music by Oscar-winner AR Rahman, will arrive at the Dubai Opera for a five-day run starting October 16. The schedule will also include an additional two matinees.

Taj Express tells the story of a budding composer Shankar as he struggles to create his first Bollywood score, only to find that each of the numbers he composes materialises before his eyes. The journey is told through dance moves and sparkly costumes, interwoven with smash hits from Bollywood stars. The show is choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant and directed by Shruti Merchant. The title track was composed by Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant.

“This show has been a dazzling international sensation and is the epitome of all things Bollywood, mixing film, dance, and music by some of India and Bollywood’s greatest names to deliver an unforgettably colourful and magical night at the theatre,” said Jasper Hope, the chief executive at Dubai Opera.

Tickets, starting at Dh200, go on sale at 9am on March 19 with a special early-bird discount of 20 per cent off on all seating categories available until April 2.
