Aiwa opens warehouse in Jebel Ali

1990 - Aiwa, one of the leading Japanese electronics companies, began warehousing and distribution operations for the Middle East and Africa from Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone, following the inauguration of Aiwa Gulf Co. The new company was inaugurated by Sultan Bin Sulayem, Chairman of Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza). The warehouse facility of Aiwa covers 1,500 square feet and houses a wide range of audio and video products. Aiwa is the ninth Japanese company to set up a warehouse facility at the Free Zone, Sulayem said. Yoshiaki Kubo, general manager of Aiwa’s international sales division said, the Jebel Ali facility would ensure speedy availability of goods in the region and more marketing personnel from Japan were being appointed by Aiwa.
