Staying in hotels in Dubai or Abu Dhabi can get expensive based on when you get here. Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah usually have a lot of budget options but tourists tend to prefer staying either in the capital or in Dubai.
We did the legwork to find you a few budget-friendly, three-star hotels worth checking out; we have even stayed at a few of them ourselves.

Resident or tourist, staycations or vacations; none of these hotels skimp on comfort, amenities or convenience for the reasonable prices.
Most of these are 3-star and 4-star hotels, and will cost from Dh200 to Dh400 for two per night.
Dubai
Ibis Hotels
Ibis Hotels is a group known for their centrally-located, comfortable and, most importantly for us, budget-friendly hotels across the world. In Dubai, they have eight hotels, out of which we love the fact that most of them are near metro stations and major attractions. There's one in Abu Dhabi as well.
Tryp by Wyndham
We have tried this one out and for the low-budget, efficient and comfort-loving travellers that we are, Tryp was a win. From free shuttle buses and city maps, to comfortable and stylish rooms; this venue has everything you may need including a pool, terrace restaurant and common workspaces. They also have a branch in Abu Dhabi.
Somewhere
We have stayed at the Tecom branch of this hotel and for us the best part would have to be the restaurant. There's also a Somewhere Hotel opposite Deira City Centre which is amazing for its proximity to bus and metro stations as well taxi stands.

Rove
Rove Hotels in Dubai are the new hotspot to be in with their great dining offers and stay packages. The three locations are ideally placed, all near popular locales. Each of the hotels also have interesting events and tours happening at various times, so ask them when you check-in to participate.
City Max
City Max is another chain that prides itself on being budget-friendly and comfortable. They also have long-stay offers, condition-based discounts and more for tourists looking to save some money. The hotels are located in Bur Dubai, Barsha and Sharjah.
Abu Dhabi/Al Ain
Aloft
Aloft Al Ain was a design-lover's dream when we stayed there with the cool colours and aesthetic. This hotel also reminded us of casual hostel stays without the discomfort or lack of privacy, while offering good food and proximity to attractions in the area. Aloft has two locations each in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and four hotels in Dubai.
Centro
Centro is Rotana's affordable lifestyle branch with five locations across the country including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. This option is ideal for those who expect fine quality, accessibility and comfort at a reasonable price.
Aerotel
Aerotel is an interesting new concept and a very useful one too. The hotel is aimed at travellers who have been flying long flights or red-eye routes, or the ones who have excruciatingly long layovers on transit flights. With flexible room-sizes and hourly bookings, you get your comfy shut-eye for an affordable price. Aerotel is located in Abu Dhabi.
Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham
This location in Abu Dhabi is ideally located for shopping, sight-seeing and ease of travel. They also have locations in Dubai, but this one is great for saving your money and staying comfortably while in the capital.
Al Ain Palace Hotel Abu Dhabi
Starting off with a choice of eight restaurants at this three-star hotel, you are getting value for your buck from the moment you step in. We love the fact that the location has a temperature-controlled pool and is only 20 minutes from the airport in the capital.
