With the long weekend ahead, maybe it's time to try something new.

1. Make someone happy

In keeping with the spirit of the Islamic New Year, why not pop down to Urban Yogi organised by Injoy Giving and create something beautiful for a loved one out of waste and make them happy? Born out of a passion for the preservation of our beautiful planet, the intention is to renew and repurpose waste, by turning wasted products into things of beauty. These products are an experiment in generosity intended to build trust, human connection and inspire the spirit of giving in the community. Go down to The Urban Yogi and create up-cycled pieces of art, which you can then gift to your friends and loved ones.

2. Join a camel caravan

If you’ve always wanted to feel like the legendary Lawrence of Arabia and cross the unforgiving and most dangerously treacherous desert lands that ever existed (let your imagination go wild) you just need to book the newly introduced camel trek through the dunes with Abu Dhabi based desert retreat Arabian Nights Village. Offering a 45-minute camel trek through the awesome Al Khatem dunes for overnight guests, (day safari-goers get to use its stunning oasis pool after their desert activities) before their atmospheric dune dinner. Olympic swimmer Tom Daley tried it and seems to have had the time of his life.

Considering they’ve just revised their timings to stay open later, they’ve gone from being good to great. Inspired by the stylish vintage brasseries of Paris, La Residence offers a chic  yet relaxed ambience. With Michelin Star chef Frederic Vardon behind the sharing-styled menu, you can expect high-quality French fare.
