‘Low Battery’. This is a very familiar message to several iPhone users out there, with ‘iCloud Storage is almost full’ coming in at a close second.
It seems like local gadget brand Zakk have obviously had enough and have brought the iDisk storage device to the UAE market. This little thing is a storage device bundled with lightning and charging cable for iPhones and iPads. It is available in storage capacities of 32GB and 64GB.
You have a lightning connector on one end and a USB 3.0 connector on the other. The build quality is quite impressive the rubber strap folds inward and clips onto an inbuilt clasp — making it seem almost half its size.
On the software front, you’re prompted to install the ‘iDisk Me’ app onto your device. The app is incredibly easy to use and sorts your videos, photos, music and documents together on the app’s home screen. You can then transfer media and data between your iPhone or iPad and the iDisk.
The little device is compatible with several video formats such as .WMV, .AVI, .MKV, .MP4, and .MOV. You can pre-load movies or TV shows on the drive and watch it quite easily on your phone.
The Zakk iDisk costs Dh229 for white 32GB Drive and Dh299 for the blue 64GB version.
