Boston Lane Toasties and Coffee
We were one of the first to try the Australian owned café in the heart of Dubai’s underground art, fashion and music scene – Al Quoz. Boston Lane is inspired by Melbourne's laneway coffee culture. It’s a humble, but completely beautiful food and coffee project at the Collective in the Courtyard.
It opened just last Friday, the coffee shop will serve up a daily selection of deli style toasties, healthy bowls and pastries. Expect classic corner-shop favourites like brioche “Breaky” rolls, “Milk-bar” milkshakes and “Nutella” toasties as well as some not-so-classic’s, like “Mum’s Bolognese” cheddar toasties, “Mexican” salad bowls and “Cheesymite Scrolls” (ask an Aussie if you aren’t sure what this is).
Surrounded by the unique colours and abundant greenery of The Courtyard, Boston Lane shares it’s home with some of Dubai’s most interesting home-grown retail concepts including Georges of Dubai, whose owners thoughtfully designed the interiors of Boston Lane (look out for the pink wall)

The Candy Bar by Manna
The brand new dessert bar, located in the recently opened Dar Al Wasl mall, has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and mouth-watering dessert displays. The Candy Bar is a salon des thé that serves some of the most creative desserts in town including a pistachio and saffron croissant, lotus cake and kunafas to name a few!
The candy bar also has something for the calorie counters too; they serve breakfast (healthy options!) and brunch all day long. From 5pm onwards is when the high tea rolls out. It includes a three-tier platters of artful canapés, mini sandwiches and desserts. Their desserts also extend to the coffee, which means you can sip on a red velvet latte and lotus cappuccino.
