Art: Workshop Drawing-from-Film
Head over to Project Space Art Jameel in Al Serkal, home of the CAD Studio, where Dubai-based artist, Nadine Ghandour will be leading a unique and alternative workshop of drawing-from-film, with selections featuring short videos from archival, satellite and personal footage exploring multiple viewpoints played on a loop.
You don’t need to be an expert at drawing, since it won’t need any technical skill, but rather focuses on pace, looking, finding, compiling, adding and subtraction with a continuously developing composition

Culture: Emirati Women’s Day exhibition
To mark the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day, Sofitel Dubai Downtown will host Emirati artist Budour Al Ali and her collection, ‘She Rises’ for an art exhibition from August 28 until mid-December
The hotel is celebrating Emirati Women’s Day by recognising women in the region and highlighting their pivotal role in the community. The exhibition will be running daily and the artwork will be available to purchase directly from the artist.

Try something different: Rock climbing
Located on the nearby courtyard and terraces of Talise Fitness, the Rock Climbing Wall is a great way to start your morning off with an adventure (and we say morning, because it’s just too hot to do anything later on in the day). The 6.4-metre climbing wall is actually quite physically demanding and you may need to be brave when it comes to heights.
I wanted to give up half way through. There are ten different vertical climbing lines each at a different level of difficulty. But don’t worry, it’s completely safe! This is just one of many things you can do with Jumeirah Hotels as part of their 90 ways to summer promotion.
