Premium Electronics, an Abu Dhabi based electronics trading company, has announced the DASS H-ONE smartphone. The device, developed via Premium Electronics’ mobile phone manufacturing arm DASS, will be the first Android 4G LTE device without a camera and without a GPS.

Other features of the DASS H-ONE include dual-SIM capabilities, 2GB of RAM (16GB ROM) and a 4.5-inch IPS screen. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor.

Premium Electronics states that the device was designed specifically to suit the requirements of government sectors, military, critical infrastructure zones and sensitive areas that require a high degree of security – zones with policies in place that restrict the use of smartphone with cameras, GPS and Voice Recorders.

Besides the lack of a camera, GPS and recording capabilities, the DASS H-ONE still operates just as any other smartphone with access to media, games, web browsers, emails and social media.

In a note to the press, Mubarak Ahmed Bin Hamoodah, Chairman at Premium Electronics said, “DASS H-ONE Smartphone is about understanding today’s needs to minimize the threat of information leakage and data breach. With a streamlined design, high quality and performance, we give you the chance to stay in touch with the world even in the areas where smartphones with Camera and GPS are not allowed.”

The DASS H-ONE will be sold through a range of retailers and online stores for Dh1,550.
