Dubai: A French woman testified in court that she was raped by two Emirati men and dumped in a half-naked and semi-conscious state near a construction site.
The victim, 20, said she met one of the suspects at a hotel entrance in JBR about a year ago. “He asked me to go out with him that night,” she told the judge, “I agreed. He came by the hotel that night with the other suspect to pick me up.”
The plaintiff, dressed in an abaya, told the court that the men had taken her to one of their homes for drinks. The next day, a police officer found the woman near a construction site.
“I don’t remember what happened,” she said. “I had drinks at their house and then I woke up in the hospital covered in bruises.”
The suspects admitted to having sex with her previously, but said it was consensual.
The courtroom was cleared when the woman hesitated to divulge details of the incident.
