Accident took place on Maleiha Road in Sharjah after driver lost control of vehicle causing collision with another vehicle
Sharjah: An Emirati family of four died in a collision involving two vehicles on Maleiha Road in Sharjah on Friday afternoon, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.
Col. Haran Mubark Al Jazai, acting police director of Eastren Region said on Friday the head of the family was at the wheel when he lost control of the car, sending it swerving into another vehicle at around 3.30pm.
Police put the age of the dead man at 35 and his wife’s as 26. Their son, identified as M.A, was aged 6; and daughter M.A. who was only six months old.
The 22-year-old Emirati driver of the second vehicle, identified as E.A.A. and who police said caused the accident, sustained injuries.
Police patrols and paramedics arrived at the scene after being alerted about the accident and transferred the bodies to Al Qasimi Hospital.
The injured driver of the other car was taken to Al Dhaid Hospital. His condition is reported to be stable.
Al Dhaid Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
Sharjah Police have urged all motorists to drive carefully and adhere to speed limits.
