Exit permits to be issued for visa violators

Visa violators benefiting from amnesty exempt from fees and fines

Abu Dhabi: Exit permits will be issued for visa violators who apply voluntarily during the two-month amnesty and will also be exempted from all fees and fines, the Ministry of Labour has announced.

Major General Nasser Al Awadi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalisation and Residency, stressed the ministry’s keenness to provide all the facilities needed to facilitate the travel procedures of visa violators applying to benefit from the amnesty and ease their exit procedures.

He added that the amnesty only applies to those who have lived here with proper visas and overstayed after their visas had expired and their papers are outdated.

He urged violators to take advantage of the two-month amnesty, which begins on December 2, and expires on February 4.

The amnesty comes within the framework of the supreme leadership’s initiatives that aim to help alleviate the burden of those whose conditions prevented them from adherence to the residency law.
